dc.description.abstract The use of supplementary information on auxiliary variables correlated with the characterunder study is helpful as it reduces the variation in the estimates of the character under study, which in turn improves the precision of the estimates. In this paper, supplementaryinformation on available auxiliary variables have been used to build improved estimator ofcrop yield in Lesotho. The methods of estimation that have been used are ratio and regressionmethods, where two scenarios were considered for each method. The first scenario is whenone auxiliary variable is used to build the improved estimator and the second is when twovariables are used simultaneously to build the improved estimator of crop yield. en_ZA
